The service

Kontrl is a parental control app for iPhone and iPad, published by Matrix Productions Ltd. It lets a parent or legal guardian manage app and web availability on a child's device in their family, using Apple's Screen Time technology.

Who may use it

You must be an adult, and you may only enrol devices you are entitled to manage: your own, or those of a child in your care. Using Kontrl to restrict a device without proper authority is a breach of these terms.

Subscriptions

Kontrl offers auto-renewing subscriptions (yearly with a 14-day free trial, and monthly) and a one-time lifetime purchase, all billed through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled in your device Settings. Prices are shown in the app before any purchase.

If a subscription lapses, restrictions already on an enrolled device continue to run; the parent controls become read-only until you resubscribe. Unenrolling a device is always available.

What Kontrl is not

Kontrl is a scheduling and availability tool. It is not a content filter beyond what you configure, not a monitoring or surveillance service, and no restriction system is impossible to circumvent. It does not replace supervision or conversation, and we make no promise that a determined person cannot find a way around a restriction.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Kontrl to harass or control another adult, to interfere with a device you have no right to manage, or to attempt to breach the service's security. We may suspend accounts used this way.

Liability

Kontrl is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matrix Productions Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, which removes your data and releases enrolled devices. We may close accounts that breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
